Learning Backpacks

 

Learning backpacks provide fun, motivating take-home activity kits that connect children's experiences at school with their daily lives at home. Each kit invites children and their families to read several literature selections and complete related activities using hands-on manipulatives and journal recording pages.

You will see many different learning backpacks come home with your child this school year. Each backpack (or bag) will have a description of special activities for you to do with your child. There will be a notebook in each bag for recording reponses. These journals will be shared with each family after the backpack has visited each child's home. The backpacks can stay at your house for different amounts of time....please read the enclosed directions to see when to return the backpack to school.

Watch for the "Mr.Clown" Backpack and journal to come home within the first month of kindergarten. There will be many more backpacks coming home after our parent conferences in October.
